Vivian Gavilán
Anthropologist
She has a degree from the Universidad de Chile, a Master’s in Social Anthropology from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO), and a Doctorate in Social Sciences majoring in Sociology from El Colegio de México.
She has worked at NGOs such as the Centre for Research into National Realities (CIREN), the Study Programme for Rural and Indigenous Women (PEMCI) and the Centre for Women’s Studies (CEM).
She has written articles and chapters of books focusing on gender, ethnicity, and intercultural health in the north of Chile. She has also participated in research projects as lead researcher and co-researcher for Fondecyt and Fonis projects.
