Laurent Binet’s first novel, HHhH (Picador, 2013), which told the story of the operation to kill Nazi leader Reinhard Heydrich, was a critical success, earning various honors and awards, among them the Prix Goncourt for first novels. Translated into thirty-four languages, it was also made into the feature film The Man with the Iron Heart.
His second novel, The Seventh Function of Language (Farrar Straus & Giroux, 2017), about the fictitious homicide of Roland Barthes, also earned accolades and awards, including the FNAC and Interallié awards.
